EUROPA vanad postiteed markidel on kujutatud kahte ajaloolist peatuskohta vanal Tartu–Võru maanteel. Ühel margil on kaasaegne foto selle postitee äärde 1863. aastal ehitatud Varbuse hobupostijaamast, kus 2001. aastast asub Eesti Maanteemuuseum. Teisel margil on foto Tille kõrtsist 20. sajandi algaastaist. Hoone hävis 20. sajandi algul ja tänane teeline seda enam ei kohta. Poogna servadelt leiab huviline ka Ihamaru teeristis oleva Mati Karmini loodud rändaja skulptuuri kujutise. FDC kujunduses on kasutatud Tartu–Vastseliina tee kaardilehte 1695.aasta lvalminud Tartu maatee trasside atlasest, mida säilitatakse Rahvusarhiivis.
EUROPA − Ancient postal routes
EUROPA – Ancient postal route stamps depict two historic stops on the old Tartu–Võru road. One stamp has a modern photo of the Varbuse postal station built on the side of this road in 1863, where the Estonian Road Museum has been located since 2001. The other stamp depicts the Tille tavern from the early 20th century. This building was destroyed during the same period, thus modern travellers will not get to see it.On the selvage of the stamp sheet one can find an image of the traveller sculpture created by Mati Karmin, located at the Ihamaru crossroads.The FDC design uses theTartu–Vastseliina road map sheet from theTartu County road atlas published in 1695, which is preserved in the National Archives.
EUROPA − historische Postwege
Auf den Marken EUROPA – historische Postwege sind zwei historische Stationen auf der alten Landstraße von Tartu nach Võru abgebildet. Auf einer Marke ist ein modernes Foto der 1863 errichteten Pferdepoststationvon Varbuse, die seit 2001 das Estnische Landstraßenmuseum beherbergt. Diezweite Briefmarke zeigt ein Foto des Krugs von Tille aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert. Das Gebäude wurde zu Beginndes 20. Jahrhunderts zerstört, und der heutige Reisende findet es nicht mehr vor. Anden Rändern des Bogens findet der Interessierte auch ein Bild der von Mati Karmin geschaffenen Skulptur eines Wanderers an der Kreuzung von Ihamaru. Für die Gestaltung des FDC wurde das Blatt zur Landstraße von Tartu nach Vastseliina aus dem 1695 fertiggestellten Atlas der Wegstrecken des Kreises Tartu verwendet, welcher heute im Nationalarchiv aufbewahrt wird.
