ISSUE 41 OF THE ESTONIAN PHILATELIST
brings materials that should interest collectors of varied interests. From classical philately, a rare fourblock of 10 Marka Aeronaut imperforate between greets the reader already from the cover, brought to the readers by Peter Gleason and Kalev Kokk.
Also Erik Sjögren's two articles, one on the printing faults of the Tallinn Skyline issue of 1920-24 and the other on the perforations and differences of the two printings of the Reconstruction issue stamps of 1941 belong to the sphere of classical philately.
From a more recent period the article by Ago Papp about Haapsalu local provisional stationery, including forgeries, is of great interest also from the practical aspect.
The opening article of the issue is by Elmar Ojaste, who shows how it is possible to paint an exciting picture of one's hometown by going deep into the postal history of his native Suure-Jaani. Reading the article you can sense his deep-going work in archives, adding authenticity.
Besides, the Grand Old Man of Estonian philately has authored a story about the 1999 postage stamp lottery, and once again be has gone down to the minutest details in connection with the subject.
This issue concludes Ka1jula Saare's account of the postal history of ViIjandi County in the years 1944-64, a period that is often not very willingly remembered today. Yet also that period constitutes a part of Estonia's postal history and we must give credit to the author for giving a thorough overview of the two decades, including at those aspects of postal workers activity outsiders usually do not see.
Finally, the issue includes an overview by Tatjana Sergejeva, a Vi1jandi postal worker, about what happened when people at several Vi1jandi County post offices suddenly discovered in the afternoon of 31 December 2004 that it was not possible to change the year to 2005 in the date stamp.

Elmar Ojaste Suure-Jaani artikkel on esimene kodukoha filateelia käsitlus eesti keeles.
Esimese postitöötajana on Tatjana Sergejeva filateeliaväljaandes selgitanud üht seika uuemast postiajaloost.
Kolmandana tahaks esile tösta Kaljula Saare artiklit Viljandimaa postiajaloost 1944-1964, mille teine osa käesolevasse väljaandesse on jõudnud. Ka see artikkel sobib näiteks, kuidas käsitleda ühe maakonna postiajalugu sel ajaperioodil. Hetkel on vaid Viljandimaa ülevaade olemas ning kõigi teiste maakondade omad ootavad veel kirjutamist. Nüüd on neid sellevõrra kergem kirjutada, et üks näidis on valminud.
